About me

Who is Jason McLeod?

I am a web developer, tinkerer, hacker, husband ,and excellent dancer.

I work for an interactive firm in Charlotte, North Carolina called Atypic.
I'm the PHP/MySQL/Javascript dude.

In high school, upon finishing Friday's math test, we were allowed to leave early or 'play on the computers'. Everyone else choose the obvious option and left early. But I sat and stared at the DOS prompt. After a little poking around I found QBASIC. Nibbles and Gorilla. I also found the source code. I quickly realized the lives and score variables, and started changing the code to see what happened. I downloaded every .bas file I could find, and started hacking. A few weeks later I was writing my own programs. This momentum has only increased since then. Over ten years later, I still have to know how things work. After jumping in and out of programing languages I fell in love with PHP, and Javascript. I’ve started a successful web development firm, written two CMS platforms, a handful of jQuery plugins, gallery managers, blogs, and countless proof-of-concept scripts. I also have some experience in mobile application development.
